Aeropress coffee

a simple brewing technique

Aeropress coffee - a trend that

hold on

The food and beverage industry is no different from any other industry when it comes to trends. First we boiled coffee in a coffee pot, then we switched to brewed coffee, press coffee and so on. But the new trend that is continuing in the coffee industry is aeropress.

Aeropress is one of the most basic approaches. Basically, the device consists of only two tubes and a filter. Many people claim that the way to brew coffee is similar to the way you brew coffee with a French coffee press. But the big difference between aeropress and a regular coffee press is that aeropress filters the coffee at the bottom instead of the top. In the aeropress, the filter is placed at the bottom of the device instead of the top as on a coffee press. To the average coffee consumer, this may not sound like much of a difference. But the fact that coffee is filtered at the bottom and not the top means that you can extract even more flavor from the coffee than you can in a coffee press.

And

In the aeropress there is also a so-called microfilter. This means that you avoid a lot of small coffee particles that you normally get in a regular coarser filter. With fewer coffee particles in your coffee, you get a smoother coffee. What you can say about the aeropress is that it is like a coffee press but much better.

You brew aeropress coffee by first placing a small paper filter, which comes with your aeropress, in the bottom of the tube where the coffee is to be brewed. Then you put in as much coffee as you need in the same tube. It is recommended that you use a finely ground espresso coffee for this type of coffee. Then fill the tube with warm water. For the best taste of your coffee, the perfect temperature of the water is also required to extract as much flavor as possible. For aeropress, you want to boil the water, then let it stand and cool for a few seconds to get the perfect temperature. Then pour the water into the coffee, stirring with, for example, a longer spoon. Put the other tube in the tube with coffee and water and press down as you do with a coffee press. The pressing time usually takes about 20-30 seconds. For this coffee method, you can brew the coffee directly into the cup.
